As a mommy and a nanny, I can't imagine putting artificial flavoring in a baby's food! If she can't honor your wishes for your baby, she should be fired. Lots of people left you good advice here, so all I'll add is that there's a great book called "Super Baby Food" that goes into detail about what kind of foods babies need each month of their development. If the babysitter can't go along with your rules on food and feeding, what else will she do that you don't agree with? Your baby's taste buds are being set up for a future of bad habits if it takes artifical flavors to feed her.
