What “finger food” did you start your baby on?
Posted by: Baby Food Grinder / Category: baby food questionsMy 8 month old little girl refuses to eat baby food anymore and I am having a hard time coming up with things to feed her at meal times. She loves Gerber puffs, Cheerios, pieces of banana, etc. But those don’t seem like good meal options. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

i would boil pototes, and pieces of pumpkin and mash that up for him (kinda like you making mashed potatoes) and he loved that, byt you shouldnt feed it every day, you should vary it and boil it really soft

Apple pieces
Gerber Graduate dinners.
Gerber meat sticks
french fries
vegetables. Gerber has them in jars cut up small enough for a baby, or you can buy the regular stuff and cut them up yourself.

Try avocado slices or cooked pasta with a little sauce on it. Mashed potatoes are good. Try cooked broccoli with some cheese sauce for dipping. She should be getting most of her nutrition from milk (breast or formula) at this point. Table food isn’t her main source of nutrition at this point. As long as she is getting adequate milk, the food part is just for the experience and learning how to eat.

I just went through that last month with my baby. You can boil spiral pasta until it’s really soft. I also cut veggies, like carrots, zuchinni, potatoes, etc. into sticks and boil them. Also, you can feed her some boiled chicken, but feed her with your fingers and she’ll probably eat it. My daughter also loves any kind of flat breads, like pita bread, indian naan bread, and a saudi bread called tamees.
