just feed her what u cook and eat everyday, just puree them in a blender.
most baby foods are just pureed fruits. so i would just buy fresh fruits and smash fruits like bananas with a spoon or for fruits like apples and pears grate with a zester.
    good luck.

I have a friend who just uses a blender for fruits and vegetables. Just as long as nothing you are feeding her that can cause an aspiration risk, then I think you should be fine…

Food you eat that is easy for her to chew with her gums.
    Noodles, macaroni, bread.
Things made with ground meat, like casseroles.
    Canned fruit and vegetables.
    Bananas
Just make sure it is mashed and fed to her, or you can cut it up in little pieces so she can pick them up and feed herself, small enough that she can swollow them easily and they won’t get stuck.

well if shes ggod at swallowing, fed her off your plate and or make ur own meals. So lets say ur having chicken potatoes and veggies and she cant swallow good blend it up and feed them to her seperatly or if she is good at swallowing make her her own little plate and make sure to still give formula

I bought a manual baby food grinder from Kidco. Whatever I eat I put a little bit in the grinder and feed it to her too! Except I don’t add salt/ spices etc. until I dish hers out. It’s wonderful! Last night she had steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans all ground up! AND it’s cheaper because it’s food your eating too. My daughter barely ate jared baby food…and I don’t blame her by the way it tastes and smells!

Real food, just like you eat.

You never need to use baby food at all, as long as you start solids when your baby is developmentally ready which is between 6-9 months. Pureed strained baby food was invented when mothers were using formula that was completely inadequate (milk with corn syrup, or the first commercial formulas) which did not have enough nutrients (mostly iron) then baby foods had to be added starting at 4-8 weeks in a very specific order to prevent malnutrition.

Many parents worry about babies choking. However, there is good reason to believe that babies are at less risk of choking if they are in control of what goes into their mouth than if they are spoon fed. This is because babies are not capable of intentionally moving food to the back of their throats until after they have learnt to chew. And they do not develop the ability to chew until after they have developed the ability to reach out and grab things. Thus, a very young baby cannot easily put himself at risk because he cannot get the food into his mouth in the first place. On the other hand, the action used to suck food off a spoon tends to take the food straight to the back of the mouth, causing the baby to gag. This means that spoon feeding has its own potential to lead to choking – and makes one wonder about the safety of giving lumpy foods off a spoon.

It appears that a baby’s general development keeps pace with the development of his ability to manage food in his mouth, and to digest it. A baby who is struggling to get food into his mouth is probably not quite ready to eat it. It is important to resist the temptation to ‘help’ the baby in these circumstances since his own developmental abilities are what ensure that weaning takes place at the right pace for him. This process is also what helps to keep him safe from choking on small pieces of food, since, if he is not yet able to pick up small objects using his finger and thumb, he will not be able to get, for example, a pea or a raisin into his mouth. Once he is able to do this, he will almost certainly have developed the necessary oral skills to deal with it. Putting foods into a baby’s mouth for him overrides this natural protection and may increase the risk of choking

My pediatrician didn’t believe in baby food, so I fed my children anything we were eating, spaghetti, enchiladas, soup. If she is past pureed food just mash it up. If you aren’t into this then other good foods are mashed potatoes, small pasta shapes, frozen peas and carrots, cooked squash, bananas, canned fruit, mashed up, cheerios, oatmeal.

Puree anything you eat, or mash it up realy good. Mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, she can have meat at 9 mths, just puree it.

i didnt even waste my time buying baby food, i just bought every kind of fruit and vegetable from the shop, cook them a different variety every day, mix and match, plus you can add meats just put it in the blender, just make sure you blend it enough for you baby to be able to eat without choking, i didnt add any salts or sugars as i dont think that it is good for the baby.
