How old was your baby when they could feed themselves small pieces of food?
Posted by: Baby Food Grinder / Category: baby food questionsMy son is 7.5 months old and can feed himself a cracker, but he needs to be fed smaller pieces of food. Today I gave him avocado cut up into small pieces and he would try and pick up as many pieces he could in each hand, but never tried to put any in his mouth. He ended up picking up six pieces in one hand. He had a great time smashing it all up and making a big mess, but didn’t try to feed himself any of it. How old was your baby when they could feed themselves small pieces of food like that?

She is 8 months and does great with small pieces of carrots, green beans, cheerios. She has been doing this for about a month. So, he should be ready soon!

Your son is doing much better than my daughter did at 7.5 months. Up until about 9.5 months old she refused to put anything in her mouth and would put food in her fingers then hand it to me and open her mouth for me to feed her. It was so cute, but I never thought she’d ever put it in her mouth her self.
