Best food for a 7 month old baby and how often?
Posted by: Baby Food Grinder / Category: baby food questionsI’ve been feeding my baby only once a day, and sometimes none at all. I am a working mom and sometimes I’m too rushed to take time to prepare food. I’ve been feeding him home-prepared meals like mashed potatoes, squash, and Gerber sweet potato and banana. I also make apple juice and pear.
Please help me extend my repertoire of solid food for my baby by sharing recipes of food and drink and also the frequency. Thank you, I greatly appreciate all the help.

I hope you meant you are only feeding him ‘solids’ once a day. And he is still getting formula…right????
Cause you need to feed your child several times a day lady!

I don’t have any receipes but you can pretty much give him any grown up food that he doesn’t have to chew. Home made mashed potatoes, carrots that are soft and mushy, green beans, corn, anything you eat that is small and easily chewed. And anytime you eat give your baby something to eat. When you are eating dinner give your baby dinner too. For the first year it’s all about getting on a schedule and practicing eating solids. Just take your time and enjoy your baby.

I hope someone else is feeding your baby while you are at work. Peach with out the skin is good, string cheese in little pieces, baby yogurt, broccoli, cauliflower, summer squash, zucchini, asparagus, teething biscuits.
Good book with lots of suggestions and recipes listed below.

I use Gerber Organic and Earth’s best brand.
I started with rice cereal then oat meal. The fist fruit I introduced was banana, worked my way trough first foods – fruit and veggie.
Last week we started the second foods fruits and veggies.
I too work and my mom takes care of my daughter.
My daughter’s typical meals:
1. Breast milk – nurses – 6:15am ish
2. Breast milk – nurses – 8:00 am ish
3. Breast milk – bottle 9:30-10 ish
nap
4. Lunch – Cereal, 1-2 fruits, 1-2 veggies – noonish
5. Breast milk – bottle 1:30
nap
6. Breast milk – bottle – fruit or veggie 3:00ish
7. Breast milk – bottle or nursed – 5:00ish
8. Dinner – Cereal, 1-2 fruits, 1-2 veggies 7 ish
9. Breast milk – nurses 9:00
Bed 9:15 sharp
Next week she starts a solid food breakfast consisting of baby yogurt, fruit and veggie.
Two weeks from now she will start with baby meats, probably meat will be with dinner.
