This is a fun book that’s a great small gift for babies. The pictures of food as baby animals is cute and creative.
For older kids (2-3 year olds), try “Food For Thought” Food For Thought by the same author which teaches colors, shapes, numbers, and opposites.

A friend bought my son another Saxton Freymann picture book for his first birthday. We both love reading through this and looking at and pointing out the pictures so much that I bought several more, including this one. Now at 19 months, my son loves to flip through this book, finding the different animals and making their sounds as he points them out.

I bought this book for my young son as companion to Food for Thought, which is one of my daughter’s favorite books. However, I found Food for Thought to be more creative and educational. The pictures are cute and the book is sturdy and fairly priced. Overall, I would recommend it, but not as much as some of their other books.
